BMG pauses care staff’s minimum levels (PpUGV) because of Coronavirus

Obviously, the recent regulations (as the PpUGV) put pressure on the hospitals and adequate medical care cannot be guaranteed during time of crisis.

Due to the spread of the Coronavirus, the German ministry of health (BMG) paused the care staff’s minimum levels regulation, as the BibliomedManager reported today, March 5th 2020.

“Obviously, the recent regulations (as the PpUGV) put pressure on German hospitals and adequate medical care cannot be guaranteed during time of crisis.” As Sven Sauermann from Healthcare Heads comments the situation.

Josef Düllings, president of the VKD (hospital directors’ association) twitters: “Now is the time for the hospitals to show their services and care for the population. But at the moment, it cannot comply with the situation. The recent regulations of the refunding system are only based on emaciation and market exit of the hospitals. The BMG’s decision is necessary and helpful.”
