Federal health minister Jens Spahn prepared a plan of measures together with the responsible for nursing and care, Andreas Westerfellhaus, to release and support the hospital care staff during corona crisis.
The seven point action plan in detail:
The Care-TÜV will be suspended until the end of September. Assessments are to be conducted on an event-related basis only. This is intended to relieve nurses of bureaucratic requirements. The determination of the degree of care and reclassifications should be done without physical contact to the patients but based on filed documentation or by video conference. The Medical Service is supposed to assign their staff to hospitals without any compensation. This would apply for 4000 nurses and 2000 doctors. Private payers have also announced that they will relieve staff of their audit services. For the time being, patients receiving care allowances are no longer visited by the staff of the medical service. Consultations should be carried out by telephone. Care homes must immediately report Corona infections to the payers. Personnel ratios will be suspended until further notice. If the ratios are violated, the reimbursement should not be reduced. Care homes and care services are to be compensated for costs relating to the Coronavirus at the expense of the payers.
