In today’s (17th of April) “Morgenmagazin, federal health minister Jens Spahn announced that hospitals should stepwise return the normal workmode as of May. This instruction bases on the current rate of reproduction for Corona infections of 0,7 (published by RKI).

Ca. 25-30% of ICU beds per hospitals should still be reserved for Covid-19 patients.

Therefore, the hospitals can restart their daily business as of next month and catch up on delayed surgeries. Patients must be treated as soon as possible (mainly in the units of oncology, cardiology as well as orthopedics).

To enable a regulated start of normal conditions, there will be arrangements between the hospitals (who will treat Corona patients? Who will start with the delayed treatments for other patients?).

Of course we will keep you posted.
