German government distributes Corona bonus for hospitals

Hospitals do have a right to receive a so-called Corona bonus if they treated a specific number of SARS-CoV-2 patients between January and May 2020 (according to para 26a hospital financing law (KHG)).

The federal government provides a total of 1 billion Euros. The hospital individual amount of the bonus was calculated with the number of beds in the hospital, number of care staff employees and the number of treated Corona patients.

433 hospitals receive a bonus, its amount is about 230,000€ on average.

The list of hospitals receiving the bonus was published by the German DRG institute (InEK) and is publicly available here.
