Ministry of health provides draft for the patient data security law (“Patientendaten-Schutzgesetz”)

The federal ministry of health published the draft version of the patient data security law (“Patientendaten-Schutzgesetz”).

One of the main facts of the draft is electronic health record (EHR) which the health insurances will offer their insurants as of 2021. The EHR will save indications, x-rays as well as the vaccination card among other things.

Furthermore, electronic prescriptions shall be filled via an app on the smartphone in a (online) pharmacy, this service will also be available as of 2021.
