The German Hospital Federation (DKG), the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds (GKV-Spitzenverband) and the Association of private health insurances (PKV) agreed on the federal base rate (BBFW) for 2020.
The amount of the federal base rate for 2020 is €3,671.18.
Based on the separation of the nursing and care costs from the DRGs as of 2020, lots of DRGs keep their name but their content changed significantly due to subsequent changes in the sort order of the DRGs. “This mechanism is more common than an exception and affects all DRGs of the system.” says Dr. Heimig (head of InEK) on the aG-DRG-System 2020. As of now, it is possible to analyze the changes by the reformation in detail with the available transition groupers and the released federal baserate.
