BfArM opens OPS and ICD proposal procedure for 2022

The BfArM (federal institute for drugs and medical devices) opened the proposal procedure for the OPS classification and the ICD-10-GM version 2022 on December 1st, 2020.

The OPS classification (encoding for operations and procedures) and the respective OPS-codes significantly define theG-DRG-system. OPS-codes and their further development therefore play an important rolefor the Reimbursement of therapies and products.The OPS classification is revised on an annual basis. Until end of February 2021, proposals for the further development can be submitted to BfArM to represent a therapy in an OPS-code as specific as possible.
