BfArM published further information on the prescription of DiGAs

The first digital health applications (German abbreviation: DiGA) can be prescribed by physicians and psychotherapists soon – how this prescription process shall look like and which data are necessary is answered on BfArM’s website lately.

Similar to posology and packaging sizes of pharmaceuticals on prescriptions (in Germany called “template 16”), there will be different unities of DiGAs which can be prescribed (e.g. duration of usage, included hardware etc.).

Furthermore, unique identifiers are assigned to the DiGAs (DiGA-ID, DiGA-“Verordnungseinheit”-ID, “Pharmazentralnummer”). Therefore, further information on the prescription and billing process of DiGAs are clarified.
