German Government enacts improvement of infrastructure in hospitals

The federal government and the German states are expected to invest 4,3 billion Euros as one-time support for hospital funding due to the Hospital Future Act (KHZG).

The German government approved the draft called “Hospital Future Act” (KHZG) presented by the Ministry BMG BMG) on the 2nd of September 2020. Due to this act, emergency capacities, digitalization and IT-security are supposed to be strengthened financially, as well as the connection of the sectors, for example with telemedicine and robotics. Besides the investment funding of hospitals, this act also re-regulates the finance of operating costs, which has become necessary because of various policies during the Corona crisis. The government singularly funds 3 billion Euros, the federal states are meant to add in 1,3 billion.
